Bushman’s Retreat is a small private camp ground in Mount Mellum. Available by invitation. It is secluded, peaceful and serene.

I have been wanting to do this for a long time, a place of my own where I could grow some bush tucker, bring back some culture and get the kids off their ipads, out into the bush and enjoy it.

Every thing you see here I have put in, running a few tracks here and there and creating some fantastic walking tracks.

One of my favorite tracks takes you down to a special place for me that I found while exploring the place. I came across a couple of scar trees, used as marking points I followed the trees through to the creek bed where I found grinding holes.

Following the scar trees up from this point I spotted a natural cave that would have been used to shelter travelers through the valley.

Further up the track is Bushman’s Camp Kitchen, built by myself and some mates to reflect the style of the Victorian huts that I love. This hut is designed as a community meeting and kitchen area.

In this location there are around 8 natural area’s that make great campsites for small groups.

Access is only by low range 4WD or Hinking and is ideal for short stays.

We are not yet 100% ready and we have a lot of work to get through to finish it off. If you would like to know more fill out the contact form below and myself or one of the team will get back to you shortly.
